- Cold Cranking Amps (CCA).
- Reserve Capacity (RC).
- Type of the battery.
- Size of the battery.
The cold cranking amp of a car battery is the discharge load that a fully charged battery supplies for 30 seconds. The battery should maintain its voltage above 7.2 volts. The cranking requirement of the car depends on the climate. Reserve Capacity is the number of minutes of a fully charged battery at 80 degrees F, discharged at 25 amps until the voltage falls below 10.5 volts.
Two main types of batteries available are:- Low maintenance.
- Maintenance free.
The low maintenance batteries are available as non-sealed batteries.
The size of the battery is important. The same battery only fits while others do not match with the cables to be connected to the terminals and it will not accommodate within the space. It's necessary to check for the warranty period of the battery before buying
